Things and their morphology  - the ways in which, over time and under its influence, they become transformed, transfigured, not shadows of their former selves but newly transported to realms undreamt of in their beginnings and beautiful in their own right; even though the hard-wired morphometrics of our senses would tell us otherwise. That the processes of decay deserve to have their own branch of aesthetics is not some exotic plaint for grotesquery but more for a reasoned gaze to be cast on the life cycle of the object.
